Shiny clean beasts. What are they up to ? (I assume they came off the depot or nearby).

They did come off the TMD. Two locos do not fit on the shunting neck so they were run out onto the down grand. They then were signalled through Bescot Station towards the middle crossovers and onto the up goods line and Newton Jcn.
This signalled wrong direction move happens most days, WL36 to WL17 ground sigs, and has surprised many observers over the years!

I have seen a few bang road moves over the years. Certainly interesting. Strange how they never sound the horn on approach though even though its an unusual move. I thought I did well seeing them on shed but everyone else went two better than me! Great shots from everyone, of them.

There are a few signalled wrong direction moves available to Walsall PSB sigs. Anyone seen a train go bang road from Ryecroft Jcn to Walsall Station (Park St Tunnel) on the down slow? Thats a good one.
