I had given up hope in my usual spot and ventured down to Neachells Lane heading back towards home when 6S44 eventually appeared 40 minutes late behind 37803 and 37225 on 19.05.97. This is the view looking south at Neachells Lane bridge looking over Noose Lane crossing. Not a good spot for a picture but what else could I do!
58021 heads over Noose Lane crossing on 02.07.97. I was very annoyed that such a working didnt provide the more usual 31s or 37s but looking back now, it aint so bad. When you consider that 6G85 was just in front with a pair of 31s and 6S44 had a pair of 37s, I shouldnt complain!
31113 and 37679 storm north with 6S44 Sheerness to Mossend. These locos were booked to work the Bescot - Warrington leg. In 1998 it was renumbered 6S75. Not the best location this but a different one. If I recall I was a bit late and knew I wouldnt make the usual spot if it was on time.
37403 Ben Cruachan passes Strawberry Lane climbing up to Wolverhampton with the 1721 Birmingham to Holyhead on 14.07.99. Note the lack of fence which covers the area now!
Cotswold Rail's Hornby set peeps under the motorway bridge at Newton Rd 05/08/2006. This was a Bristol-Edinburgh charter train. On reflection i should have got the beast at Tame Bridge stn as the train called there to pick up
DRS loco's 37194+37229 roar past Darlaston in atrocious conditions with Pathfinder's 2006 end-of-year Yo-Ho-Ho charter, en route Preston... monstrous...
